What a Cookie Is

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. Websites use them to remember something between one page and the next. Some are set by the site you are visiting, and some are set by another company whose content appears on the page.

This page explains, in plain terms, exactly what this website stores in your browser. It is short because this site stores very little.

The Cookie We Set

We set one cookie, and only one:

  • NEXT_LOCALE. Purpose: to remember which language you chose, English or French, so the site stays in that language as you move between pages. Set by: this website. Duration: it lasts for your browsing session only, and your browser deletes it when you close it. It holds nothing but the language code, and it is never used to identify you.

This cookie only appears if you choose a language different from the one your browser already asks for. If your browser is set to English and you read the site in English, no cookie is set at all.

We do not use cookies for analytics, advertising, tracking, or profiling. There are none on this site to switch off, which is also why you will not see a cookie banner here.

Other Browser Storage

Separately from cookies, a website can save small values in your browser's own storage. This site uses that once:

  • theme. Purpose: if you use the light and dark switch on our internal style reference page, your choice is saved so the page opens that way next time. Duration: until you clear your browser's site data. It is saved only if you actually use that switch, and there is no such switch on the ordinary pages of this site.

Nothing else is written to your browser's storage anywhere on this site.

Third Parties on the Booking Page

Our booking page at /book shows a calendar provided by Cal.com, our booking provider. That calendar is loaded from Cal.com and appears as soon as the page opens, before you click anything.

Because that calendar comes from Cal.com, Cal.com may store its own cookies or data in your browser under its own name, for its own purposes such as making the booking work. Those are theirs and not ours: we cannot read them, and we do not control them. If you would like the detail, please see Cal.com's own privacy and cookie information.

If you never open the booking page, no Cal.com content loads and nothing of theirs reaches your browser.

When you actually book and pay, that happens inside Cal.com and its payment processor, Stripe, and video sessions take place on Zoom. Which companies handle your information, and why, is set out in our Privacy Policy.

How to Clear or Block Cookies

You are in control of what your browser keeps. Every major browser lets you see the cookies and storage a site has saved, delete them, and block new ones. The settings are usually found under Privacy, Security, or Site settings, and browsers also offer a private or incognito window that discards everything when you close it.

Clearing our language cookie simply means the site will ask your browser which language you prefer next time, exactly as it does on a first visit. Nothing is lost.

Blocking third-party cookies may stop the Cal.com calendar from working properly on the booking page. If that happens, please write to us and we will arrange a time by email instead.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever add something that stores more in your browser, we will update this page at the same time, not afterwards. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
